Farrah Mariyah

Hi, I’m Farrah Mariyah, a fellow expat from India who grew up in Malaysia, and it's been home for over 20 years.

Growing up between cultures has shaped how I see the world. From international school environments to local university life, I’ve experienced first-hand what it means to adapt, fit in, and slowly build a sense of belonging in a place that didn’t start out as home.

Professionally, I work in marketing and public relations, where storytelling and community building are at the heart of my work. Through this platform, I share practical insights and honest perspectives to help others navigate life in Malaysia, especially families with young children adjusting to a new environment.

Having been through that journey myself, I understand how overwhelming it can feel, not just for parents, but for the little ones figuring things out in their own way. My aim is simple: to make the transition feel a little less daunting, and a lot more like home.
